Cat's Pride NOT so Fresh & Light

I have used Cat's Pride litter in the past without problems, so when I saw the Fresh & Light version, I decided to give a chance. BAD idea.

Intially, out of the box,there are no problems. There is very ittle dust, it smelled clean/fresh and it poured fine from the box.

The problem came when it was time to clean the litter box or when the cat left the box. Becasue it seems to have smaller pieces, I was finding litter far from the box as it got stuck to the cat's paws or flung when my "digger" did her business, but that was dealable.

The big problem is that even though it clumps, the clumps don't hold up to scooping, so they immediatly break apart. The ammonia smell is then right in the face as soon as you try to clean the box.

I have 2 cats (2 yrs & 14 yrs), using 2 boxes that get scooped every 2-3 days. 1 box has the Fresh & Light while the other doesn't. Needless to say, when I go to the store later this week, I will be going back to my normal Cat's Pride.

REALLY LIKE THE LITTER

Cannot understand why the comments are so different "The worst litter I have ever used" to the "Best litter".

I have two cats and have not problems with this litter especially if you do not try and scoop immediately after the cat has urinated. Have found many other litters that the clump breaks up when trying to remove a clump from the corners especially if it is still wet.

I love the fact that same size container is so much lighter than other brands especially when you have a bad back as I do.

Doesn't clump

This litter is OK except it doesn't clump! After a few days the urine odor is unbearable! If the clumping problem is over solved I will buy it again, but not the way it is!!!!

How to Optimize Your Cat Litter

I completely agree that having more than one cat definitely taxes the cat litter especially when the urine is close to the corners and breaks up.

Here is what I have done for 7 years that has helped tremendously: I line the bottom of a deep litter box with a clean puppy training pad (fabric side up) and atop that I place a disposable cat litter liner bag.

I then try to keep the litter at 3 inches deep and scoop it out twice a day. I add a bit more litter as needed. I only discard all the litter and start fresh liners and all every 2 or 3 weeks.

I find odor is not a problem for us this way. I appreciate the comments from all.

It's OK

Fresh & Light isn't the best litter I've used but it's not the worse. Definitely a close 2nd. We have 2 cats so it does get used(although one of our cats goes out periodically and does some of his work out there).

The only thing that aggravates me is when the cat urinates in the corner of the litter box, it's difficult to scoop up and it falls apart and leaves some of the soiled litter behind. I just make sure I have the litter deep enough so it gets absorbed quicker.

If it isn't deep enough then it sticks to the bottom of the pan and you may need to scrape it off the bottom. Otherwise it holds the odor well and is easy to work with and the cost is more affordable for me.

Love unscented Fresh & Light by Cat's Pride!

Thank you, thank you for the unscented Fresh & Light. Our cat prefers unscented litter. My cat's and my family's lungs have been saved.

Our old litter had layered our sweet cat and our home in a constant film of dust. We no longer suffer through the dust anymore. The litter box always smells clean and I do not have a problem with the clumps breaking.

I do not know why others have been having problems or complaints. Please keep making this litter and do not change a thing!!

No Dust!!

I have found that this litter smells great and works really well for my two cats. I have yet to find a litter that does not track. I also think that a litter box needs to be scooped at least twice a day.

That helps with keeping the odors to a minimum. I haven't found a litter that clumps perfectly, either.

Cat's Pride Light & Fresh - surprising fantastic

No dust, no tracking, no odor. Clumps superbly. Great price. Great value

And my cat likes it too.

I've used 10 different litters, from the gamet of cheap to very expensive.

Dr. Elsey's Precious Cat is number one.
But coming in a close second is Cat's Pride Light & Fresh unscented.

I highly recommend Cat's Pride Light & Fresh unscented.

The worst cat litter ever!

It is the worst crap I ever wasted my money on. The pee sticks to the pan, and I had to use a screw driver to get it off. I am on my way to get my old brand, this should not be on the market. I clean the box every day, and did not notice the pee on the bottom of the pan at first.

Great Stuff

This stuff works great! We've been using this litter for our 2 cats ever since it came out on the market (unscented); we do make sure and clean the boxes once a day, but we always did this even when using other litters.

We don't have any of the problems that others wrote about. Will continue using it.

Get this new cats pride off the market it makes a mess and the odor comes through. The best Cats Pride is the Premium! Please put it back in the Stop & Shop.

This litter has caused me problems from the start. It doesn't clump like normal litter. It smells terrible when they urinate. And I got cockroaches that formed in the container after three days. That's foul. I do not recommend this at all.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Cat's Pride!

To those of you complaining, you need only wait a little while while new urine clumps dry a bit. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this litter!

It does exactly what I need it to do. No dust. Clumps nice and tight (once you let any new deposits dry for a few minutes), and has no artificial fragrance.

I have FIVE indoor-only cats and I go through A LOT of litter. Believe me, I've tried them all. I especially hate the dusty ones (Arm & Hammer with baking soda) and the ones that smell (flowers on top of poop?)

I scoop daily and once scooped, the litter looks just like the day I poured it in.

I 100% agree. The litter crumbles when it is scooped, and the amonia smell is unbearable. I scoop every other day, and always add a little to the top.
