These mats come in assorted colors such as silver and blue. You may not be able to tell from the pictures available but they also have built in ridges that help trap stray litter from your kitty’s paws.

By the looks of it.. this could be a good thing or a bad thing if your cat doesn’t like stepping on textured surfaces. Some clever cats, may just try to jump over them so their paws don’t have to actually touch the mat…

Be prepared to test it out to see if your cat likes the mat, every cat is different and some are more sensitive than others.

These mats (because of their small size) are more suitable for enclosed litter boxes or a box that has only one entrance. Since the mat is small, it’s not really meant to protect all 4 sides of your cats uncovered litter box.

If you have an opened litter box and you do decide to try it out, you’ll need to either put the box in a corner or between two large objects so your cat will only exit from the side where your mat is.

Any other use will defeat the main purpose of a mat like this.

One helpful feature of this mat, is that it’s not a hard plastic but a softer, flexible plastic.

Every time you change the litter, just pick the mat up and empty it back into the litter box. This helps to really cut down on wasted litter.

Cats who are heavy diggers tend to get litter all over the place and mats like these work rather well for “covered” boxes.
