LitterMaid Plus
Review by: Steven Perkins
“The only drawback to the LitterMaid Plus is that the box is a little loud."
We bought the LitterMaid automatic litter box at Wal-Mart for around $85. We only have one cat and he’s around 5 years old. When we first brought it home we were worried that he would hate it. Boy were we very wrong! He loved his new Littermaid litter box. When it starts to run he will come running from anywhere in the house to watch it cycle through. After it is done, so is he. He is particular about his litter box. He will watch you while you are changing the litter. The only special things you need for the Litter Maid is clumping litter and the disposable receptacles that can both be bought at Wal-Mart. To save money, you can use a plastic bag inside a receptacle, but it isn't as easy to clean. The only drawback is that the box is a little loud and takes up more space than our regular litter box. The up side far outnumbers the down. It is so much easier to pick up a plastic container than to dump the entire box. We use far less kitty litter than we used to. My silly cat has decided to housebreak himself now. We installed a pet door for our dogs. Our cat now goes outside to use the bathroom. He does still use his litter box on cold or rainy days. He will still sit and watch it cycle through before leaving the bathroom which we still think is funny. I like this particular automated cat litter box and recommend it!
